For LMSWs pursuing LCSW licensure in New York, supervised experience must include clinical social work activities such as diagnosis, psychotherapy, and assessment-based treatment planning. New York requires a minimum of three years of supervised clinical experience, including at least 2,000 client contact hours and 100 hours of clinical supervision, completed in accordance with New York State Education Department requirements.
